When I Felt True Pain

By Dru Macasieb

I gave you all of me,
The best I can bring out,
But you crushed my dreams,
Reasons, explinations without.

You took a rusty knife,
Implanted it through my heart.
So much torment in one life,
When did this all start?

You then twisted the knife,
Which made me cry in pain,
Turned my tears to blood,
Made me go insane.

So now I lay here,
In the bitter cold,
Without love,
Or beauty to behold…

All I can feel,
Is the freezing rain,
So now I leave you with:
“When I meant true love,
That’s when I felt true pain.”
